imaginary outfit: fried chicken and fireworks

We had a family friend who used to say summer only lasted from Memorial Day to the Fourth of July. This year, after a cool and rainy June, it feels as though summer is just getting started. Either way, there are fireworks and I hope to see as many as I can. I am also thinking of making a batch of biscuits. They are perfect multitaskers for this time of year, equally great sandwiching a piece of fried chicken with pickle slices and a drizzle of honey, or acting as a base for macerated fruit and piles of whipped cream.

Other summery things:
Happy weekend.

summer break

I'm taking a little time off to enjoy the summer. I'll be back in August with posts on seashells, stars, and sharks.
