Today it is finally really truly chilly. Watching out the window, everyone has an extra quickness in their step, and even the dogs aren't lingering to sniff the leaf piles like they usually do.
I'm bracing myself to go outside - Nora needs her daily constitutional, cold or no, and I have to toughen myself up for the season of cold walks. One of the things I like best about having a dog is that you have to go outside every single day, and even if the weather is bad, I generally find my day is better for it. And a walk in the winter is maybe my favorite of all, especially once it is over. There's nothing better than getting chilly when you can count on being warm later.
