The generation of men is just like that of leaves. The wind scatters one year's leaves on the ground, but the forest burgeons and puts out others, as the season of spring comes around. So it is with men: one generation grows on, and another is passing away.

Each paper leaf is based on an actual leaf the artist has found, and no leaves are duplicated.
