imaginary outfit: moon business

These have been dark days. It's hard to say what will happen next. But tomorrow night, barring rain, I'll be standing outside, watching for the moonrise.

The moon is a good refuge. An object of regularity, order and control. Pristine and barren, with no tragedy and no heartbreak. It comforts me to know it is there, distant and perfect, unchanged and eternal, always beautiful, ever-imagined but real. Pulling the tides, shaping the months.
