imaginary outfit: beachcombing in maine

Tomorrow, we're leaving for our first vacation in three and a half years. Other than a few grainy photos of the property and a point on a map, it's a completely unknown place to us. A tiny house with a crescent of beach somewhere on the coast of Maine.

I'm looking forward to a week of days where I get to wake up and see the ocean. Other than that, we don't really have any plans. I'm taking some books, a pack of cards, the waffle iron and a few puzzles, and hoping it will be cool enough for favorite sweaters and ratty jeans.

A week of comfortable grubbiness with homemade waffles for breakfast. Can't wait!

Sidebar: I have four books packed, and can't decide whether that is too ambitious or not ambitious enough. And then there's the very good chance of finding a bookstore to raid. Difficult calculations.
